SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production and facility equipment by performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks. Depending on experience level, technicians will handle routine inspections, complex troubleshooting, and mentoring of junior staff
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform equipment inspections, identifying potential issues before failures occur. Troubleshoot problems on motors, conveyors, robots, compressors, chillers, and automated machinery.
- Record maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS system. Support safety initiatives by following and promoting company safety policies. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to increase machine uptime.
- Participate in on-call rotations or overtime shifts when required. Level 3 – Senior Technician: Lead complex interventions, major overhauls, and equipment rebuilds. Perform advanced troubleshooting on PLC-driven systems, drives, and robotics (in collaboration with automation engineers)
- Analyze root causes of recurring failures and recommend permanent solutions. Mentor and train junior and intermediate technicians.
- Coordinate with engineering to improve equipment design and reliability. Act as field leader in absence of Supervisor. Performance Expectations: Reduction in repetitive failures (MTBF improvement).
- High technical expertise in at least one specialization (mechanical, electrical, automation). Ability to manage small maintenance projects and coordinate teams.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold environments.
- May require standing, bending, lifting, and working with tools and equipment for extended periods.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or technical training in Maintenance, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Advanced experience in industrial or commercial refrigeration systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to lead complex maintenance tasks and support team development.
- Experience working in fast-paced operational environments (manufacturing, warehouse, cold storage, or food production preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
