STORE MANAGER – CONVENIENCE STORE

Full-Time | Management Position
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our convenience store location in Vista, CA. The Store Manager is responsible for maintaining strong operational standards, leading and developing employees, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance with Company policies and California employment requirements.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who takes ownership of their location, holds employees accountable, communicates effectively, and understands the importance of accurate scheduling, timekeeping, meal and rest period compliance, and consistent enforcement of Company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day store operations and ensure the location operates efficiently, safely, and professionally.
- Recruit, train, coach, supervise, and develop store employees.
- Prepare employee schedules based on operational and staffing needs.
- Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, performance, and compliance with Company policies.
- Review employee timecards for accuracy, including missed punches, meal periods, overtime, and other timekeeping issues.
- Ensure employees receive all required meal and rest periods and that breaks are provided in accordance with Company policy and California requirements.
- Address employee concerns promptly and communicate HR-related matters to Human Resources.
- Maintain high standards for customer service, store appearance, cleanliness, organization, and product availability.
- Monitor inventory, pricing, cash handling, register procedures, and loss-prevention practices.
- Ensure required paperwork, payroll documentation, reports, and employee records are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Maintain compliance with Company safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Respond appropriately to customer complaints and operational issues.
- Work closely with Operations Management and Human Resources to address employee relations, performance, and compliance matters.
- Lead by example and maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable workplace.
- Perform other management duties as necessary to support store operations.
Qualifications
- Previous Convenience Store & Gas Station experience required.
- Proven ability to supervise and hold employees accountable while maintaining a professional workplace.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with scheduling, payroll/timekeeping, cash handling, and required documentation.
- Dependable and able to respond to operational needs.
- Comfortable using computers, email, scheduling systems, and basic business software.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
Compensation
Annual Salary: $70,304.00
This is a full-time management position offering the opportunity to take ownership of a busy retail location and lead a team while maintaining strong operational, customer service, and compliance standards.
