GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Goal: The Human Resources Coordinator supports the mission of Sunnyvale Christian School by providing organized, confidential, accurate, and responsive human resources support to school leadership and employees. The goal of this position is to help create a professional, caring, compliant, and Christ-centered workplace in which employees are equipped and supported to serve students and families effectively.
Overview: The Human Resources Coordinator is a part-time position responsible for supporting employee recruitment, onboarding, personnel records, benefits administration, employee communication, compliance documentation, and other human resources functions. The individual must demonstrate excellent judgment, confidentiality, organization, interpersonal communication, and attention to detail.
The Human Resources Coordinator shall agree with the Statement of Faith and Core Values of Sunnyvale Christian School.

Responsible to: Principal or designated administrator
Supervises: None unless otherwise assigned
Evaluation: The Human Resources Coordinator shall be evaluated by the Principal or designated administrator. Standards of performance are established through the employment agreement, this job description, and the Staff Handbook.

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
The Human Resources Coordinator shall:
- Hold an associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Management, or a related field preferred.
- Have previous human resources, office administration, payroll, or employee relations experience preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of professional human resources practices and workplace confidentiality.
- Possess strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, databases, and human resources or payroll systems as applicable.
- Be able to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.
- Have experience working in a school, nonprofit, church, or similar organization preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION – Essential Functions
The Human Resources Coordinator shall:
- Reflect and support the mission, values, and Christian character of Sunnyvale Christian School.
- Maintain confidential and accurate personnel files for all employees.
- Assist administration with recruitment, job postings, applicant communication, interview coordination, reference checks, and hiring documentation.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and ensure that required employment documents are completed and maintained.
- Maintain records related to employee fingerprinting, background clearances, health screenings, TB requirements, certifications, credentials, and other required documentation.
- Track employee documents and notify employees and administration of upcoming expirations or missing requirements.
- Assist with new employee orientation and communication of school policies, procedures, benefits, and Staff Handbook expectations.
- Maintain employee information within payroll, benefits, human resources, and school administrative systems as assigned.
- Coordinate employee benefit enrollment, changes, and employee communication in cooperation with benefit providers and administration.
- Assist with employee leave documentation, attendance records, and other personnel-related administrative matters.
- Maintain records of employee contracts, compensation changes, position changes, and employment status.
- Coordinate employee performance evaluation schedules and maintain completed evaluation documentation.
- Assist administrators with employee correspondence, documentation, and personnel forms.
- Maintain current job descriptions and assist administration with updates as responsibilities or organizational needs change.
- Support administration in communicating school policies and procedures consistently to employees.
- Maintain required workplace notices, employment forms, and human resources documentation.
- Coordinate with payroll and finance personnel to ensure accurate and timely communication of employee changes affecting payroll.
- Respond professionally and promptly to routine employee questions and direct matters requiring administrative decisions to the appropriate administrator.
- Protect confidential information regarding employees, students, families, and school operations.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical human resources records.
- Assist with employee recognition, professional development records, and staff events as assigned.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Bring employee concerns requiring administrative attention promptly and confidentially to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist administration with employee separation procedures, including documentation, final paperwork, return of school property, and account/access notifications.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable human resources requirements and communicate potential compliance concerns to administration.
- Coordinate with outside human resources consultants, payroll providers, benefit providers, insurance representatives, and other professional service providers as directed.
- Prepare human resources reports and employee information requested by administration.
- Attend administrative or staff meetings when requested.
- Inform administration promptly when unable to complete an assigned responsibility or when an issue requires additional guidance.
- Perform duties with fairness, consistency, confidentiality, and respect for every employee.
JOB DESCRIPTION – Supplemental Functions
The Human Resources Coordinator shall:
- Assist with special administrative projects as assigned.
- Participate in professional development related to human resources and school operations.
- Provide recommendations for improving human resources processes, recordkeeping, communication, and efficiency.
- Support school-wide activities and special events when requested and when scheduling permits.
- Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned by administration.
The Human Resources Coordinator is expected to support and uphold the Core Values of Sunnyvale Christian School.
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
