This position is essential to ensuring system performance, customer satisfaction, and energy efficiency across a wide range of projects. The role combines technical field expertise, energy auditing, and customer-focused problem-solving, with opportunities to support audit teams and collaborate across multiple office locations.
As an Audit Team Specialist, you will:
- Support and participate in on-site energy audits as part of a collaborative audit team, which may include room-by-room walkthroughs, equipment documentation, thermostat location recording, and facility map markups across schools, churches, and commercial buildings.
- Take ownership of audit accuracy and completeness, ensuring all data collected by the team meets quality standards before submission.
- Drive audit timelines, coordinating internally to ensure audits are prepared, scheduled with the customer, and delivered efficiently.
- Maintain organized audit documentation across applicable platforms, ensuring information is accurate and accessible for internal review and client submission.
- Utilize an iPad and other digital tools to capture notes, photos, and field information during site visits.
- Maintain clear and accurate audit documentation and customer communications throughout each project.
- Represent C&C Group professionally at customer sites. While this role carries no sales responsibilities, you will regularly interface with facility managers, administrators, and building owners.
- Travel to customer sites throughout Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri, and at times to other C&C Group office locations. Travel is a meaningful part of this role; during peak periods, you may be in the field up to 50% of the time. Trips typically run 2 to 3 days and include overnight stays.
- Grow into a lead audit team role, helping to shape and improve the audit process as C&C Group's energy practice expands.
- Associate’s degree in HVAC, controls, engineering technology, or related field; or equivalent technical training and field experience.
- Knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems, building controls, and energy principles are all preferred, but can be learned and will be a requirement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret utility bills, control drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks, including motor vehicle record.
- Energy certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support audit teams.
- Experience with utility bill analysis, zoning studies, and energy benchmarking.
- Flexibility to travel throughout Kansas and to other company locations as needed.
At C&C Group, we recognize and reward talent with a competitive salary and full benefits package, including:
- 401(k) with company match and financial planning education.
- Ongoing professional development to support career growth.
- A work environment that values entrepreneurial spirit, client-centered thinking, and innovation.
If you’re a problem-solver with a passion for helping organizations achieve their financial and operational goals, we encourage you to apply.
