In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring every vehicle meets established frontline standards and is fully prepared for merchandising, photography, and sales; while serving as the final quality checkpoint between recon completion and frontline readiness. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of dealership operations, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to identify missed repairs, cosmetic defects, or process breakdowns while holding teams accountable to production and quality expectations. You would report to the Recon Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Previous experience in automotive dealerships, reconditioning (Recon), quality control, vehicle inspection, detailing, body shop operations, or used vehicle operations preferred.
- Experience coordinating workflow, managing inventory movement, and maintaining production standards is a plus.
- Knowledge of vehicle merchandising, photo-readiness standards, dealership operations, and reconditioning processes.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality, cosmetic, and presentation issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid CA driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual, (Preferred but not necessary)
- Ability to demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment background check.
Essential Duties, but not limited to:
- Conduct final quality inspections on all completed reconditioned vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles meet dealership frontline, merchandising, and photo-ready standards.
- Identify and document missed mechanical, cosmetic, body, safety, or detailing issues.
- Verify all recon work has been completed accurately before vehicle release.
- Inspect vehicles for cleanliness, presentation of quality, and cosmetic defects, including residue, swirls, water spots, smudges, and panel alignment concerns.
- Coordinate with Detail, Body, Safety, Intake, Service, and Photography departments to maintain efficient recon flow.
- Monitor vehicle status and help move completed units through the reconditioning process promptly.
- Escalate delayed, stalled, or incomplete vehicles to management.
- Maintain accurate vehicle notes, statuses, locations, and quality control records.
- Track recurring quality concerns and communicate trends to management.
- Provide daily quality control and production updates.
- Assist management in identifying process improvements and operational bottlenecks.
- Support departmental goals by maintaining high standards of vehicle quality, presentation, and inventory readiness.

Salary Range: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
