Job Overview
We are a custom home builder looking for a dependable, experienced Handyman to join our team. This position involves residential punch-out work, warranty repairs, general carpentry, and miscellaneous construction tasks on custom homes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work independently.
Responsibilities
- Complete residential punch-out and warranty work on completed homes
- Perform general carpentry, repairs, and finish work
- Read and follow construction plans as needed
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
- Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures
- Communicate with supervisors regarding project progress and job needs
- Perform other construction-related tasks as assigned
- Work additional hours, including overtime, when needed to meet project schedules and customer deadlines.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience performing residential punch-out work on custom or production homes
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical work, including climbing ladders
- Reliable transportation
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred Experience
- Residential construction and general carpentry
- Reading blueprints and construction plans
- Drywall repair, trim work, painting, caulking, and finish carpentry
- Basic plumbing and electrical repairs
- Use and maintenance of common construction tools and equipment
- OSHA safety practices and job site safety procedures
