Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting to ensure healthy and attractive outdoor spaces.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery including excavators and irrigation systems to perform installation and repair work efficiently.
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers to support proper horticultural practices and landscape design.
- Manage irrigation systems by installing, repairing, and maintaining watering setups to promote healthy plant growth.
- Support hardscape projects by helping install patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other structural elements using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Perform seasonal tasks such as snow plowing and snow removal to keep properties safe and accessible during winter months.
- Conduct routine landscape maintenance including fertilizing, pest management (with pesticide handling), and general site cleanup to uphold high standards of appearance.
Experience
- Prior experience with landscaping or gardening is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for outdoor work is essential.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or familiarity with operating construction equipment like excavators is a plus.
- Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture practices, and landscape maintenance techniques will help you excel in this role.
- Experience with pesticide management or pesticide application certifications are advantageous for supporting plant health programs.
- Hands-on experience with irrigation systems installation or repair enhances your ability to contribute effectively.
- Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation can be beneficial for supporting larger projects.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards is essential for success in this energetic role.
