American Traveler is seeking a Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist with CVOR experience and a strong foundation in sterile technique for a hospital OR position in Urbana, IL.
-
Hospital operating room setting with assignment to the CVOR team
-
Day shift schedule: 4x10s, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with one day off TBD
-
On-call required, including weekend and holiday on-call rotation
-
May float to the General OR when CV caseload is low
-
40 hours per week
-
Minimum 1 year of surgical tech experience required
-
CVOR experience required
-
Level 1 trauma experience preferred
-
Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of Completion of a Surgical Technology program required

BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
-
IDPH Fingerprinting required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures
-
Applied knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology

Familiarity with electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers as applied to surgical patient care
-
License required if applicable

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Apply principles of asepsis to maintain a sterile environment throughout surgical setup and procedures

Assist with obtaining and organizing supplies, equipment, and positioning devices, including patient positioning
-
Perform sterilization and disinfection of surgical instrumentation and document loads per policy
-
Participate in room turnover and setup efficiently between cases
-
Maintain and clean equipment and identify items needing repair per policy
-
Charge for equipment and supplies used during procedures
-
Scrubbing duties may include precepting medical students, residents, and other students
-
Candidates are selected through a facility leader interview process
-
RTO is not to exceed 7 total days for the duration of the contract
-
Candidates who have been on assignment at this facility system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any location within the health system
