Title: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics/RRT Pediatrics
Location: Kalamazoo MI
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights 7 PM to 7.30 AM
This position is primarily based in the Children's Hospital and supports:
- PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
- Pediatric patients
- Adult ICU patients
Therapists may also provide respiratory care coverage on adult inpatient floors as needed.
Important: Candidate must be available for the full orientation week.
Interview Process: Leader interview required.
- Call: None
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Must be willing to assist with patient transport when needed
- Michigan Respiratory Therapist License
- RRT (NBRC)
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- NRP (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience
- PICU experience
- Pediatric experience
- Adult ICU experience
First-time travelers accepted.
- 440-bed hospital
- Assignments are based on an RVU (Relative Value Unit) system
- Average workload: 38 RVUs per Respiratory Therapist
- Night shift core staffing: 11 Respiratory Therapists
- Average patient load: Approximately 15 patients per day, depending on acuity
- ICU assignments typically carry lower patient volumes due to higher acuity levels
