Position Summary
Resource Development & Management (RDM) is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic / Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance of a diverse fleet of equipment, including passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, and heavy equipment.
This position requires a strong mechanical background, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and a commitment to maintaining equipment reliability and safety.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and electrical system issues.
- Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles and equipment comply with applicable safety standards.
- Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery safely and effectively.
- Coordinate parts procurement and inventory as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience preferred.
- Experience repairing:
- Passenger vehicles
- Commercial trucks
- Heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, diagnostic reports, and technical documentation.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and heavy equipment repairs preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
