We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Supervisor for Waste and Wastewater Treatment to lead and oversee operations at our treatment facilities. This role is vital in ensuring the efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant management of waste and water treatment processes. As a supervisor, you will coordinate daily plant activities, supervise maintenance teams, and ensure adherence to safety protocols while optimizing system performance. Position Summary
The Supervisor – Waste / Wastewater Treatment (Pit Operations / Solidification) is a hands-on leadership role responsible for directly overseeing and executing daily waste pit, solidification, and wastewater treatment operations. This position works in the field alongside technicians and operators to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant processing activities.
The Supervisor shall ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with OSHA (29 CFR 1910/1926), EPA, and RCRA (40 CFR Parts 260–279) requirements while meeting production, quality, and environmental standards. Strong experience in solidification, stabilization, and wastewater treatment processes is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce all Health & Safety policies in accordance with OSHA requirements and company procedures
- Ensure proper PPE use per 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I, including respiratory and chemical protection
- Conduct and document daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety briefings
- Identify, correct, and report unsafe conditions immediately
- Maintain compliance with RCRA waste handling, storage, labeling, and manifesting requirements (40 CFR 260–279)
- Ensure adherence to EPA treatment, discharge, and environmental regulations
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Direct and actively participate in daily pit operations, including waste receipt, staging, blending, and material movement
- Execute and oversee solidification and stabilization processes using approved reagents (lime, kiln dust, polymers, etc.)
- Support and monitor wastewater treatment processes, including system adjustments and discharge compliance
- Ensure treated materials meet required specifications (moisture content, structural integrity, disposal/reuse criteria)
- Monitor pit conditions, compatibility of materials, and tank/storage levels
- Coordinate with lab personnel to verify treatment effectiveness and compliance
- Provide direct, hands-on supervision of operators and technicians in the field
- Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure daily production goals are met
- Train employees on equipment operation, solidification techniques, and hazard recognition
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and operational procedures
- Promote a safety-first, accountable, and high-performance work culture

Qualifications
Required
- 3–5+ years of experience in wastewater treatment, solidification, environmental operations or similar industries
- 2 years Supervisor experience
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and RCRA regulations
- Experience operating heavy equipment in industrial environments
- Proven ability to supervise teams while performing physical, hands-on work
- Experience leading a team through positive motivation, accountability and lead by example
Preferred
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120)
- Direct experience with solidification/stabilization and wastewater treatment systems
- CDL (preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, climbing, and equipment operation
- Exposure to industrial hazards, chemicals, and heavy equipment
