Position Summary
The Product Manager – Narrow Format Digital is responsible for the strategy, growth, and profitability of the NFD product portfolio. This role leads new product development from concept through commercialization, manages products throughout their lifecycle, and translates customer and market needs into successful product solutions.
Working closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and leadership, the Product Manager drives innovation, product positioning, market expansion, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the NFD product portfolio.
- Identify target markets, customer segments, distribution channels, value propositions, and growth opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and emerging technologies.
- Develop business cases, pricing strategies, KPIs, and corrective plans to improve product performance and profitability.
- Lead new product development projects from concept through launch and post-launch support.
- Gather Voice of the Customer feedback and translate market needs into product requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, timelines, testing, manufacturing readiness, documentation, pricing, and sales training.
- Manage the full product lifecycle, including product improvements, rationalization, and end-of-life decisions.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and R&D to improve availability, efficiency, cost, and product performance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with production toner digital press OEMs to support product compatibility and compliance across applicable brands and models.
- Establish qualified installation and production locations for independent product testing, validation, and complaint investigation.
- Support customer presentations, product demonstrations, technical consultations, trade shows, and other business development activities.
- Collaborate with Marketing on product positioning, campaigns, sales tools, and technical literature.
- Present product strategies, business cases, and portfolio performance to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5–10 years of product management, business development, or marketing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in pressure-sensitive labels, graphics, digital printing, or a related converting industry preferred.
- Experience leading cross-functional product development and managing product portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of pricing, product costing, gross margin, ROI, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Excellent project management, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; ERP, CRM, or product lifecycle management experience is a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position primarily works in an office environment with periodic visits to manufacturing facilities and customer locations. The employee must be able to travel by automobile or commercial airline, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
