Overview
Southeast Neurology and Pain Management is seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact in our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical administrative procedures, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service. The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring pleasant patient interactions as well as efficient and smooth clinic operations.
The position offers a highly desirable 4-day work week with a schedule of 7am-5pm Monday-Thursday with Fridays off!
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience from arrival through departure.
- Check patients in and accurately collect and process patient payments, including co-pays, co-insurances and outstanding balances, utilizing medical billing and collection procedures.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments as well as make appointment confirmation calls.
- Manage incoming calls on multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette, directing inquiries appropriately and providing accurate information.
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records, ensuring proper documentation review and data entry within the EMR.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents into the EMR.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and handling sensitive data with confidentiality.
- Maintain strong communication with the clinical staff.
- Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office applications for documentation, correspondence, and data management.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of proven experience as a Medical Receptionist in a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Athenahealth and eClinicalWorks.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and medical billing procedures.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer skills including typing, Microsoft Office Suite, and health information management software.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
