Panino is a modern Italian sandwich shop focused on high-quality imported ingredients, simple recipes, and fast, friendly service. Located next door to our sister shop Cannolo, Panino brings the same commitment to quality and hospitality to a menu of freshly made sandwiches, artisan pizza, house spreads, and Italian wine/beer.
We are looking for reliable and detail-oriented team members who take pride in preparing great food and creating a welcoming experience for guests. This role involves preparing sandwiches, assisting with kitchen prep, maintaining a clean workspace, and helping ensure every order meets our standards for quality and consistency.
The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with food, and values teamwork and professionalism. Experience in a kitchen, deli, or café is required.
Pay
$21.30/hr + tips (~$6/hr)
Duties
- Prepare sandwiches according to Panino recipes and quality standards
- Slice meats and cheeses using a slicer fresh to order
- Pour wine and spritzes
- Stretch and top pizza
- Portion ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and food cost control
- Prepare house spreads, sauces, and other menu components
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Restock ingredients, paper goods, and service items as needed
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen tasks
- Communicate clearly with team members to ensure smooth service
- Package takeout orders neatly and accurately
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service when interacting with guests
- Help maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or quick service restaurants is required
- Familiarity with POS systems like Square is a plus; training will be provided if needed
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures is highly valued
- Experience working in a café, sandwich shop, or retail food industry will help you succeed in this role
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a positive attitude is key to thriving as part of our team
