Transportation Customer Service Rep

We are a mid-sized asset-based Trucking company located in O’Fallon, Missouri specializing in the movement of Dry Van, Non Haz / Non-Reefer freight within a 600 mile radius of St. Louis, Missouri. We have been in the transportation business since 1980 and are in the process of hiring a new team member to fill the important Planner / CSR role. This is a critical, key developmental role in our organization in support of planning and dispatch operations serving our primary customer base. Our driving organizational goal is to provide next-level customer service whenever we engage with a customer so this role will be key in improving response to our customer base through effective communication with customers, carriers, drivers and internal Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing assigned customer accounts.
- Process phone inquiries from brokers, drivers, and customers. Respond as required with timely, accurate updates.
- Communicate with drivers via phone and e-messaging to support status updates of loads including dispatch, driver arrival and departures, detention time, etc.
- Update freight management system with critical business data including load status, arrival and departure times, detention time, etc.
- Track and trace loads
- Dispatch drivers and ensure proper documentation is provided for dispatched loads.
- Provide load updates to customers via e-mail, internet portals and/or direct phone contact.
- Accept, schedule and coordinate customer loads, including setting of pick-up and delivery times, especially for local support requirements.
- Ability to reliably adjust/update pick-up and delivery dates as situations change.
Requirements include:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent data entry skills
- Ability to interact with and direct drivers
- Direct track and trace experience (2+ years) would be a plus.
- Transportation load planning, dispatch and priority setting experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills (Always thinking the Customer comes first. Listens and responds to customer feedback.)
- Heavy experience in customer service support roles.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business situations/priorities.
- Team player: Interacts with other people effectively toward delivering against business goals. Co-operates within the team and across the business.
- Proficient in use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in written form.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Organized problem-solver.
- Self-directed, self-starter.
Experience:
- Clerical and/or Customer Service Support preferably with a minimum of 2 years in direct customer support.

Pay: $47,500.00 - $57,500.00 per year
