Our Preschool/Daycare is searching for a motivated Assistant who enjoys working with children under 5 years old. About 16 to 36 hours a week.
The job entails, but is not limited to, the following:
Child Care & Supervision
- Supervise children at all times (indoors and outdoors).
- Assist with daily routines: arrival, handwashing, meals/snacks, nap/rest time, and dismissal.
- Support children in cleaning up, diapering, and bathroom needs.
- Encourage positive social interactions and guide behavior using gentle redirection.
- Provide comfort, reassurance, and emotional support when children are upset.
Learning & Play Support
- Help set up and facilitate learning centers, play areas, and activities.
- Engage children in play, story time, songs, art, and movement.
Classroom & Program Support
- Prepare classroom materials and supplies for daily activities.
- Assist lead teacher with implementing curriculum and lesson plans.
- Keep the classroom organized, tidy, and safe.
- Sanitize toys, tables, and learning materials regularly.
- Assist with transitions between activities and routines.
Health & Safety
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Monitor for allergies, medical conditions, and safety concerns
Communication & Documentation
- Greet parents warmly at drop-off and pick-up.
- Share daily updates about meals, naps, moods, and milestones (verbally or in logs).
- Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns to the lead teacher/director.
