Schedule: Full-time
Compensation: $80,000 to $115,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
This role supports engineering and equipment supply projects for a company working in industrial and heavy equipment sectors, including mining and bulk material handling. The Project Scheduler develops and maintains detailed project schedules, monitors progress, and helps ensure projects stay on time and within contractual requirements. This position works closely with Project Managers, engineering, procurement, and project controls teams throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Do
The Project Scheduler develops, maintains, and updates detailed project schedules using industry best practices and contractual requirements, including building and revising Level 4 resource loaded Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules. This role monitors project progress, identifies schedule impacts, and recommends corrective actions when needed, while analyzing schedule performance and providing regular progress reports to Project Managers and leadership. The scheduler maintains schedule accuracy by incorporating updates, milestone changes, task completion, and meeting outcomes, and coordinates scheduling activities across engineering, procurement, project management, and other stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to support planning, tracking, and reporting, performing baseline comparisons, forecasting, and what if schedule analysis to evaluate risks and recovery strategies, and assisting with contingency planning alongside Project Management and Project Controls. This role identifies critical path activities, schedule constraints, and potential delays, tracks action items to support cross functional coordination, and prepares routine scheduling reports and other project documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of project scheduling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Practical experience with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, resource loaded project schedules, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Experience with schedule forecasting, progress analysis, and baseline management
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across engineering, project management, procurement, and executive leadership teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
- Experience supporting engineering, industrial, construction, mining, or heavy equipment projects
- Knowledge of mining and bulk material handling projects
- Background in resource planning, project controls, and schedule performance reporting
- Experience with schedule risk analysis and recovery planning
