Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and energetic full-time Dishwasher to join our fast-paced restaurant and catering team. In this role, you'll be essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. The right candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to support the culinary team by ensuring all dishes and kitchenware are sanitized and ready for use. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic hospitality setting.
Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools according to food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, or organizing ingredients when needed.
- Support bussing activities by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas remain tidy during service hours.
- Follow all sanitation standards to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment, including proper waste disposal and cleaning schedules.
- Handle manual tasks like heavy lifting of large pots or crates of supplies safely and efficiently.
- Help with basic food handling duties in compliance with food safety management practices.
- Support the team during busy periods by providing quick turnaround on dishwashing and maintaining overall cleanliness.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a restaurant setting.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely.
- Familiarity with operating commercial dishwashers and basic kitchen equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols within a busy environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team under pressure.
- Prior experience with banquet or catering services is advantageous but not essential.
