American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Stepdown position in New York requiring ACLS, strong cardiac and IV skills, and a minimum of 2 years of current experience.

Medical/Surgical Stepdown unit in a hospital setting
-
Cardiac drip management, EKG strip interpretation, and all types of wound care are part of regular practice
-
Strong IV skills required for day-to-day patient care
-
Floating to the Med/Surg unit is required
-
Every other weekend and holiday coverage required

Active NY RN license required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to start

Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Stepdown or similar experience required

Travel nursing experience preferred

Proficiency with cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, IV placement, and wound care required

Travel experience is preferred but not required

8 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) must be completed as part of facility orientation

Two supervisory references are required for consideration: one from within the past year and one from within the past 2 years
