Duties
- Set up CNC milling machines, ensuring proper calibration and alignment using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements, tolerances (GD&T), and specifications.
- Operate manual machining tools such as grinders, hand tools, power tools for secondary operations when necessary.
- Conduct quality inspections during and after machining processes utilizing precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications.
- Perform machine setup procedures including tool selection, fixture installation, and calibration to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly, adjusting parameters or replacing tooling as needed to maintain production flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines with proficiency.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like Fusion 360 programming skills is a plus.
- Knowledge of machining tools, measurement techniques, and precision measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical drawings accurately and perform manual machining when required.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine settings confidently.
- Experience with manufacturing processes involving metal machining such as grinding or boring is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail for quality control inspections (CNC quality inspection).
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members during setup and production phases.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
