Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both residential and commercial painting, with a strong understanding of color theory and construction practices. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various projects. The Painter will work closely with other tradespeople and must be comfortable reading blueprints and schematics.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and patching as necessary.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or airless paint spraying equipment.
- Conduct color mixing and matching to achieve desired results.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications.
- Perform plastering, caulking, and trim carpentry as needed for project completion.
- Collaborate with construction teams on renovation and remodeling projects.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, including power tools and hand tools.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations on construction sites.
- Assist in the installation of fixtures and perform maintenance tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential and commercial painting.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating and basic math skills for project calculations.
- Familiarity with various painting techniques including industrial painting, stucco application, and concrete finishing.
- Experience with carpentry tasks such as frame carpentry, trim carpentry, and masonry work is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Previous construction site experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
