What would you be doing as Director of Sales - FDM?
The Director of Sales is responsible for managing major accounts, maximizing Boiron’s sales, profit potential and account value through the development and implementation of account specific strategies and tactics.
But what does this job really do...?
- Utilizes a full range of data sources to prepare and conduct effective, fact-based presentations to Mass Market Retailers.
- Accountable not only for maintaining major accounts but also expanding new product distribution.
- Develops and implements Retailer specific promotional activity including display support.
- Manages ADF (account development funds) budget within communicated guidelines.
- Participates in proposal and contract negotiations to achieve business objectives while meeting customer needs.
- Assists in managing our national broker partner.
- Engages with national broker at a higher level.
- Works cross functionally with a variety of internal departments including the Leadership Team, Marketing Team, Finance Team, and Regulatory Team.
- Responsible for participating in trade shows and conferences.
- Works with leadership to stimulate Retailer engagement at higher level networking events.
- Develops and maintains sales forecast.
- Analyzes and reports on actual sales, sales statistics and sales objectives.
- Establishes sales objectives that are aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
You would be a great fit if you have the following...
- Education: BS/BA degree is required.
- 10+ years of sales/marketing experience.
- 5 or more years of consumer sales experience to large mass national retail chains or distribution channels.
- 5+ years’ experience negotiating contracts.
- At least 3 years’ experience in launching new products.
- 2 + years of direct sales management experience.
- 3+ years of Broker management experience.
- Negotiation, contracting and problem-solving skills.
- Computer Skills - Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access).
- Will travel domestic (primarily) and international (occasionally) locations (up to 65% travel).
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of sales through platforms such as Circana/Nielsen, consumer research/insight, trade, category management and marketing concepts and methods as well as proven ability to apply them effectively in planning and execution.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge using multiple information sources to develop sales strategies and tactics as well as effectively managing promotional activity and trade spending.
- Knowledge of CPG industry.
- Valid driver`s license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to drive to and from accounts.
