The Extrusion Technician operates and maintains machinery that shapes thermoplastic materials into continuous forms, ensuring product quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
- Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion lines to produce quality sheet of various widths and thicknesses.
- Quality Control: Conduct visual and dimensional checks to ensure products meet quality standards, adjusting machine parameters as necessary.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on extrusion equipment, troubleshoot issues, and assist in repairs to minimize downtime.
- Data Recording: Keep accurate records of production data, machine performance, and any quality issues encountered during the production process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and other technicians to optimize production processes and implement improvements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating extrusion machinery and understanding of thermoplastic materials and their properties.
- Ability to perform basic math, use of tape measure, and micrometer.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality control and adherence to safety standards in the manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, often training junior operators and assisting maintenance teams.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years related experience required.
