Are you tired of being told "that's just how the industry works"?
If you've ever wanted to tell a client the truth about their eyewear instead of the easy answer, if you've caught yourself apologizing for a fit or a lens design you didn't even create, if "good enough" has never sat right with you either... Sweet View Optical Studio might be exactly where you belong.
We're not a shop. We're not a clinic. We're a studio built to end "good enough" eyewear, one client at a time, and we're looking for a Licensed Optician who's just as relentless about that mission as we are.
About Sweet View
Sweet View Optical Studio is an independent, optician-owned studio in Sugar Hill, Georgia. We exist because clients kept walking in wearing glasses that technically worked but never actually felt right, and nobody had bothered to ask why. So we started asking. That's still the whole job.
Every client experience runs through real discovery (not a rushed script), precision-crafted lens solutions most studios don't even offer, and our Interactive Optical Lab, where clients actually watch their eyewear come to life. It's a different way to practice opticianry, and it takes a different kind of optician to do it well.
Here's what joining the Sweet View Crew actually looks like:
What you'll be doing
- Guiding clients through genuine discovery to understand how they actually see, live, and want to show up, before recommending anything
- Dispensing precision lens solutions, including premium and specialty designs, based on what a client actually needs rather than what's fastest to order
- Verifying fit and finished eyewear with the kind of attention that means clients never hear "you'll just get used to it"
- Holding the Sweet View standard whether or not the owner happens to be in the building that day
- Keeping the client experience personal from start to finish, with minimal handoffs and zero "someone else will help you with that"
- Growing into running the studio independently on your own days as you settle in. We're not handing you the keys week one, but that's the direction this role is built to go
Who thrives here
- You slow down long enough to actually understand a client before you recommend anything
- You'll tell a client the truth even when the easier or more profitable answer is sitting right there
- "I don't know" isn't where you stop. It's where you start asking better questions
- Every client gets treated like a person, not a transaction, regardless of budget or how many questions they ask
- When something's off, you fix it. You don't wait for someone else to notice, and you never pass it along
This probably isn't your studio if:
- Dispensing "good enough" doesn't bother you as long as it technically passes
- You'd rather move fast than get it right
- You need someone watching over your shoulder to keep your standards consistent
- You've said "you'll get used to it" out loud and meant it
What we need from you
- Active Georgia Optician License (LDO) in good standing
- ABO and/or NCLE certification required
- 5 years of experience dispensing eyewear
- Comfort with precision measurements and premium lens technology, or genuine excitement to learn
- The ability to work independently and hold the Sweet View standard without needing daily oversight
What Sweet View offers
- $27-$32/hour, based on experience and certifications
- 24-35 hours per week within the studio's current hours (Tuesday-Sunday, closed Mondays), exact shift days still being finalized. Weekend availability is a real part of this role, not a maybe
- Training in specialty solutions most opticians never get to touch, including our Avulux Migraine & Light Sensitivity Lens program
- A studio that's genuinely growing, with a real path toward running the floor independently once you're ready for it
