Position Summary
The AML Intern supports the compliance and financial crime prevention team in monitoring transactions, conducting customer due diligence reviews, and assisting with investigations related to money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimes. This internship provides exposure to regulatory compliance, risk management, and financial services operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with reviewing customer information and documentation for Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance.
- Support transaction monitoring activities to identify unusual or suspicious activity.
- Help investigate alerts generated by AML monitoring systems.
- Conduct research on customers, businesses, and transactions using internal and external sources.
- Maintain accurate records and case documentation.
- Assist in preparing reports for compliance officers and management.
- Support regulatory audits and compliance reviews.
- Stay informed about AML regulations, sanctions, and financial crime trends.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Criminal Justice, Law, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in financial crime prevention, compliance, or risk management.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions screening, or financial regulations.
- Experience with data analysis and research.
- Familiarity with banking or financial services concepts.
