Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Central Dension Elementary Aftercare Instructor, where you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after school programs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement structured activities that promote childhood development, including arts, crafts, sports, and educational games
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies
- Coordinate with school staff, parents, and caregivers to communicate student progress and address any concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized activity space that adheres to safety protocols and promotes a welcoming atmosphere
- Follow first aid protocols and be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies using CPR or AED as needed, training provided.
- Facilitate youth group activities that foster teamwork, leadership, and personal growth in line with program goals.
- Praesidium traning provided and paid prior to first shift.
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order in a lively environment
- Experience working with children across diverse settings such as daycare, camp, or youth programs
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to perform first aid procedures confidently, including CPR and AED operation
- Excellent child supervision skills with a focus on safety and attentive caregiving
- Experience in special education or working with children with additional needs is a plus
- Proven team leadership capabilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and school staff
- Outdoor work experience for supervising recreational activities in varied environments
- Skills in tutoring or teaching young children to support their academic growth
- Background in youth development programs or youth group activity facilitation enhances program delivery
