GEMCO is seeking an experienced Traveling Controls Foreman to lead building automation system (BAS) and HVAC controls installations on projects nationwide. This hands-on field leadership position supervises Controls Technicians, coordinates daily work, and ensures installations are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
This position follows a 17-days-on/4-days-off travel rotation. GEMCO provides a company vehicle, private hotel accommodations, company iPad, and phone allowance.

- Lead and supervise Controls Technicians and field personnel.

Plan daily activities, assign work, and coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment.

Lead the installation, startup, testing, and commissioning of BAS and HVAC control systems.

Install and oversee control panels, conduit, wiring, sensors, relays, actuators, current switches, controllers, and VFD interfaces.

Read and interpret blueprints, control drawings, wiring diagrams, submittals, specifications, and sequences of operation.

Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, customers, subcontractors, commissioning agents, and other trades.

Monitor job progress, labor productivity, workmanship, and project schedules.

Troubleshoot system and installation issues and provide technical direction to field personnel.

Train and mentor Controls Technicians in installation practices, safety, troubleshooting, and leadership.

Maintain daily reports, time records, material tracking, and project documentation.

Enforce OSHA requirements, site-specific rules, and GEMCO safety policies.
- Building automation, HVAC controls, electrical, or related field experience

Previous experience leading technicians or field crews

Strong knowledge of BAS installation, low-voltage wiring, HVAC equipment, and control devices

Ability to read control drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and sequences of operation

Experience with startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting

Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Willingness to travel nationwide on a 17-days-on/4-days-off rotation
