Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and energetic Nighttime Building Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our client's facilities. This vital role ensures that their environment remains welcoming, hygienic, and well-maintained for employees, visitors, and students alike. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to delivering exceptional custodial services that uphold our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Hours
- "2nd Shift" approx 2pm to 10:30pm (possibly 2:30pm to 11pm)
- 1/2 hour lunch (unpaid)
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks across all designated areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation.
- Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely, adhering to proper handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain polished floors and enhance overall cleanliness.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards, reporting issues promptly for resolution.
- Assist with light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, or touch-up painting as needed.
- Support industrial cleaning projects or specialized custodial tasks requiring heavy lifting or manual handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure efficiency and safety.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care including buffing and polishing, and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices.
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment like floor buffers confidently and safely.
- Physical stamina to perform manual handling tasks throughout the shift; capable of standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
