We're looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our Petoskey team. If you're motivated, dependable, customer-focused, and take pride in your work, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
As a HVAC Service Technician, you'll diagnose, repair, maintain, and install heating and cooling equipment while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and seasonal tune-ups
- Troubleshoot furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and boilers
- Install and replace HVAC equipment when needed
- Clearly explain repair options and recommendations to customers
- Complete service documentation using tablets and mobile technology
- Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and professional appearance
- Follow all safety procedures, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes
- Mentor apprentices when appropriate
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry technology
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of residential HVAC service experience
- EPA Certification
- Valid Michigan driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, and varying weather conditions
- Own basic hand tools
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred
- HVAC degree or technical certificate (or equivalent field experience)
- NATE Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Geothermal experience
- Boiler experience
- Sheet metal fabrication experience
