Join our dynamic construction team as a Concrete Finisher or Laborer and be a vital part of transforming blueprints into solid, durable structures! In this energetic role, you'll work hands-on with concrete and related materials, ensuring flawless finishes that meet project specifications. Your expertise will help create everything from foundations to decorative surfaces, contributing to high-quality construction projects. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and pouring of concrete using mixers and pumps, ensuring proper consistency and placement.
- Set up formwork and rebar frameworks according to blueprint specifications, ensuring structural integrity.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to smooth, level, and finish concrete surfaces with techniques like troweling and edging.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans to execute precise concrete finishing tasks.
- Perform concrete cutting, grinding, and sealing to achieve desired surface textures and finishes.
- Follow construction workplace safety regulations diligently while handling heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other trades to coordinate tasks during renovation or new construction projects.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on concrete finishing or related trades such as masonry or plastering.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems relevant to concrete work including mixers, pumps, saws, and screeds.
- Familiarity with interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans for accurate execution of tasks.
- Hands-on experience with rebar installation, formwork construction, and concrete pouring techniques.
- Ability to operate power tools safely while adhering to construction safety standards; certification in heavy equipment operation or commercial driving is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction workplace safety regulations to maintain a secure environment for all team members.
