Join our dynamic dental team at THE DENTAL SPACE as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will help deliver exceptional patient care in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic, or similar platforms to document patient information accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care, especially for pediatric patients or those with special needs.
- Support administrative tasks such as dental reception duties, scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing insurance claims using medical coding where applicable.
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices to promote ongoing wellness and treatment compliance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Required: Dental knowledge and/or prior dental assisting experience.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying infection control protocols.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines, including prosthodontics and endodontics.
- Experience with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient record keeping; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and perform medical imaging with precision.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Excellent communication skills to serve as a dental receptionist when needed and to educate patients effectively.
- Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles to provide compassionate care for young patients; experience working in pediatric or multispecialty clinics is preferred.
