Duties
- Act as the primary liaison for incoming patient referrals, gathering necessary information and verifying eligibility for home health services
- Coordinate with clinical teams to schedule assessments and ensure all documentation complies with health regulation policies
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently, updating patient information accurately and maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Verify insurance coverage, explain benefits to patients, and assist with authorization processes to facilitate seamless care initiation
- Communicate clearly with patients, family members, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to streamline the intake process
- Maintain organized records of all intake activities, including documentation of interactions, approvals, and scheduling details
- Stay informed about current health regulation policies affecting home health services to ensure compliance across all processes
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office administration or healthcare support roles, preferably within home health or related settings
- Strong knowledge of health regulation policies and insurance procedures relevant to home health services
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and medical administrative support functions
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret referral information and documentation
- Office experience that demonstrates organizational skills, multitasking ability, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of health insurance plans, authorization processes, and benefits explanation for patients
- Experience in dental office settings is a plus but not required; a background in medical administrative support is essential
