American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring 2 years of telemetry/cardiac experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
-
Care for MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown patient populations
-
Patient ratio of 1:5
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
-
Every other weekend (EOW) shift rotation required
-
Floating to MedSurg units required
-
Utilizes cardiac monitoring equipment for dysrhythmia interpretation and management
-
Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) currently in hand or pending
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred)
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
-
Experience in Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response settings required
-
Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and managing cardiac drips (no titration required)
-
Experience with blood product administration and central/peripheral line care/management
-
Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
-
Any charting system experience accepted

Provide cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and stepdown-level nursing care

Manage IV therapy, cardiac drips, and blood product administration
-
Utilize isolation precautions and PPE per professional standards
-
Must work at least one designated holiday: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
