Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires experience with various types of vehicles, including but not limited to tankers. The Driver will play a key role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate and drive various types of commercial vehicles, including motor oil and fuel tanker.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual handling techniques as required.
- Follow designated routes for deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license B (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in truck driving, particularly with tankers, or route driving preferred.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to load and unload cargo safely; forklift experience is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
