Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and with enthusiasm as they arrive, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Coordinate guest seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and reduce wait times
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant offerings
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate effectively with guests regarding their wait status
- Support food service staff by managing guest flow and ensuring timely seating
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure cleanliness in the host station area
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest inquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management and POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills to manage waiting lists, reservations, and guest flow efficiently
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and table counts accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices is a plus
