Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, delivering essential goods in a variety of specialized trailers including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and more. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, utilizing equipment such as forklifts when necessary, while ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Manage a variety of trailer types including refrigerated trailers for temperature-sensitive goods, flatbeds for oversized loads, tankers for liquids, and dump trucks for bulk materials.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each journey.
- Plan optimal routes to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing delays and fuel consumption.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and freight details in compliance with federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and clients to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any route adjustments needed.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks in various configurations such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers.
- Proven delivery driver experience with a focus on route driving and load & unload procedures.
- Familiarity with different types of freight including refrigerated goods, oversized loads on flatbeds, liquids in tankers, or bulk materials in dump trucks.
- Ability to operate additional equipment such as forklifts when required for loading or unloading cargo.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo handling.
