Purpose of Position
The Rookie Basketball Staff is responsible for assisting with leading basketball stations and games for youth ages 5-7.
Position Accountability
General day-to-day supervision, administrative direction, and performance evaluation shall be received from the Deputy Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Director.
Supervision Exercised
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Term of Employment
This position is a seasonal position. The 2027 season will run Saturday mornings, January 9 through February 20.
The following duties are normal for the position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive; other duties
may be required and assigned.

Provides general supervision and leadership for program participants.

Responsible for assisting the Staff Leader with activities.

Assists with instructing and leading participants in games and stations.

Provides effective communication with Staff Leader.
- Knowledge of basketball and supervising children in an educational or recreational setting and leading kids in
active games. -
Ability to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
