Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager - Fabrication Shop to lead and oversee all aspects of our fabrication operations. This pivotal role requires a passionate leader with a strong background in manufacturing management, process optimization, and team leadership. As the driving force behind our fabrication facility, you will ensure efficient production workflows, uphold quality standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality products on time while maintaining safety and operational excellence.
Duties
- Lead and manage the entire fabrication shop operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality control, safety, and supply chain performance.
- Drive cross-functional communication across engineering, supply chain, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage supply chain analytics and logistics to ensure timely procurement of materials and efficient inventory management.
- Foster a safety-first environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular audits, and promoting a culture of continuous safety improvement.
- Lead team development initiatives by coaching supervisors and shop floor personnel in lean management practices, mechanical knowledge, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing or fabrication environment with a focus on plant management or operations management.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, foster cross-functional collaboration, and drive operational excellence.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to fabrication processes including assembly techniques and quality control standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate across departments and ensure alignment on strategic goals.
