Responsibilities
- Act as the central communication link between kitchen staff, servers, and front-of-house team to coordinate food orders efficiently.
- Ensure timely food preparation and expediting to maintain high-quality service standards.
- Monitor food presentation, portioning, and plating to meet established standards before serving.
- Assist with food handling, bussing, and supporting food safety protocols to uphold hygiene standards.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff regarding order modifications, special requests, or timing adjustments.
- Support the kitchen team by organizing ingredients, supplies, and ensuring smooth workflow during busy periods.
- Maintain organization of orders on pass stations and ensure all dishes are delivered promptly to guests.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, including roles involving food expediting or preparation.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise between kitchen staff and servers.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with POS systems, order tracking, and basic numeracy for managing orders accurately.
- Previous experience in banquet settings or catering is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks during high-volume periods.
