Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors using various methods such as floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to maintain a pristine appearance.
- Handle cleaning tasks across different surfaces including carpets, tiles, and hard floors with appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Operate janitorial equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, carpet cleaners, and floor scrubbers efficiently and safely.
- Use chemical agents responsibly by following safety protocols for handling floor cleaning chemicals, floor care products, and other cleaning agents.
- Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness standards by dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting restrooms, kitchens, offices, and common areas regularly.
- Ensure environmental services standards are met by properly disposing of waste and using eco-friendly cleaning practices whenever possible.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or commercial cleaning experience is highly preferred; familiarity with environmental services is a plus.
- Proven ability to operate various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, waxers, carpet extractors, and floor scrubbing machines.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, waxing, polishing, and floor refinishing processes.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely with an understanding of proper storage and disposal procedures.
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients or team members.
