Hawaii Dance Bomb is a welcoming, community-focused dance organization offering classes, camps, parties and events for children and adults across Oʻahu. We believe dance should feel joyful, inclusive and confidence-building—not intimidating or overly competitive.
Position Overview
We are looking for a creative, organized and reliable Social Media Manager to bring the energy of Hawaii Dance Bomb to life online. This person will manage our social media presence, create engaging content to help the viewers feel connected to our offerings.
The ideal candidate understands what performs well on Instagram, but can also create content that genuinely reflects our personality and community. This is not just a “make things look pretty” position—the goal is to build connection, increase awareness and support enrollment across our programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Hawaii Dance Bomb’s Instagram account
- Create and maintain a consistent weekly content calendar
- Film classes, camps, parties, performances and special events
- Edit engaging Reels and short-form videos
- Create branded graphics, flyers, carousels and announcements using Canva
- Write clear, friendly captions with effective calls to action
- Post regular Instagram Stories featuring classes, instructors, students and upcoming programs
- Promote registration deadlines, new classes, camps, parties and special events
- Keep profile information, links, highlights and pinned posts current
- Coordinate with instructors and staff to collect photos, videos and program information
- Respond to comments and basic social media messages, while directing customer-service questions to the appropriate team member
- Identify appropriate trends, sounds and content opportunities for the Hawaii Dance Bomb audience
- Track reach, engagement, follower growth, website clicks and registrations
- Provide simple monthly reporting on what is working and what should be adjusted
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual style across platforms
- Follow all media-release and privacy requirements when sharing content featuring children
- Occasionally assist with related promotional materials or email campaigns to keep messaging consistent
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience managing social media for a business, organization or personal brand
- Is confident creating and editing short-form video content
- Is comfortable using Instagram, Canva and video-editing apps such as CapCut
- Has strong writing, spelling and communication skills
- Can make content feel fun and current without being forced, cheesy or off-brand
- Is organized, dependable and able to work independently
- Understands how social media supports enrollment and sales—not just likes and views
- Enjoys working around children, families, dancers and a lively creative team
- Is comfortable giving direction while filming and capturing content in busy environments
- Can manage multiple programs, locations and deadlines without losing track of details
Schedule and Location
This is a part-time position with a combination of remote content work and in-person filming at Hawaii Dance Bomb classes, studios and events on Oʻahu. Some afternoon, evening or weekend availability will be required.
