American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring Epic proficiency and a passed EKG exam.

Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 733 staffed beds
-
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a patient ratio of 1:4-5
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating within scope to like units or sister campus may be required based on facility needs
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
-
Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of PCU or relevant RN experience required

Must pass an EKG exam — no exceptions

Epic EMR experience required

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position

Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit

Pre-start orientation modules required (approximately 4–10 hours)

Royal blue and white scrubs required

RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a maximum of 4 days; all time-off requests should be submitted at the time of application

Only one holiday approval can be accommodated per contract

Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

Night shift travelers may extend up to twice before needing to be away for 6 months prior to returning
