Construction Site Safety Technician
Location: Trenton, OH
Duration: 12 Months (Immediate Need)
Type: 1099 Contractor
Pay Rate: $63/hr (Local) | $48/hr (Non-Local)
Overtime: Paid After 40 Hours at 1.4x Base Rate
Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week for Non-Local Candidates)
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM | 50-60 Hours Per Week

Join an electrical contractor supporting a large-scale data center construction project. This is a long-term opportunity providing hands-on field safety oversight for electrical installation, utility construction, and related infrastructure activities.
The Construction Site Safety Technician will work directly in the field alongside electricians, supervision, and project safety leadership to identify hazards, monitor safe work practices, and ensure compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety requirements.
OSHA 30 Construction Certification
Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
Experience providing safety oversight for electrical contractors
Current First Aid/CPR Certification
NFPA 70E training or certification
Data center or mission-critical construction experience
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) experience
Electrical energization or commissioning experience
Utility construction experience
CHST, STSC, ASP, or other BCSP credential

Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction activities

Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas

Conduct routine safety inspections, observations, audits, and hazard assessments
-
Monitor electrical installation and utility construction activities
-
Work directly with electricians, foremen, and supervision to identify and correct unsafe conditions
-
Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control activities
-
Monitor temporary power and electrical safe work practices
-
Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
-
Monitor fall protection, elevated work, aerial lifts, and material handling operations
-
Support excavation and underground utility activities where applicable
-
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements

Document field observations and track corrective actions through completion

Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation

Maintain required inspection records, safety documentation, and compliance reports
-
Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel

Coordinate closely with the Project Safety Manager and other members of the site safety team
