The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of materials into and out of inventory. This role supports receiving, issuing, storage, and inventory control processes while maintaining accurate, real-time system transactions. The Material Handler plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and a safe, organized warehouse environment.
- Monitor purchase order management reports to track incoming material POs.
- Perform three-way match verification (purchase order, packing slip, and invoice) for inventory received from local suppliers, foreign shipments, and shipping carriers.
- Report delivery discrepancies to Inventory Control and Procurement/Accounting teams promptly.
- Ensure all material purchase orders are accurately received in applicable inventory systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Stampli).
- Monitor sales order requests and fulfillment reports.
- Assign open sales orders to warehouse personnel as needed.
- Verify all picked materials prior to shipment, including consolidation of pre-assembled items and packing slip verification.
- Oversee accurate packaging and preparation of orders for shipment.
- Update sales orders to reflect shipped status in tracking systems.
- Coordinate with Accounting to ensure timely invoicing of closed sales orders.
- Ensure all received stock is properly packaged and transferred to designated storage locations.
- Maintain accurate location tracking for items stored in multiple warehouse locations.
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe storage areas, including removal of empty boxes and proper bin replenishment.
- Assist with execution of cycle counts as directed by Inventory Specialist or Warehouse leadership.
- Ensure all count documentation is completed accurately and submitted timely.
- Support investigation and reconciliation of inventory variances as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous warehouse, inventory, or material handling experience preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., QuickBooks or similar ERP systems) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to operate handheld scanning devices.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse tasks.
- Warehouse setting with frequent standing, walking, lifting, and material movement.
- May require use of forklifts or other warehouse equipment (training provided if applicable).
