Love the smell of sawdust and the satisfaction of a job well done? PrideStaff is currently seeking a high-energy Truss Builder for one of Central Oregon’s premier construction manufacturing companies. This position is expected to be 40 hours / week with potential opportunities for overtime as needed. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of experience in a fast-paced production environment. If you have a "work hard, play hard" attitude and want to build the structural backbone of our community, we want to meet you!
The Mission
As a Truss Builder, you are a vital contributor to the company’s growth and profitability by building high-quality trusses for residential and commercial construction. You will transform raw lumber into essential structural components using precision hand tools and specialized assembly techniques.
What You’ll Do Every Day
- Precision Assembly: Follow engineered paperwork and blueprints to pick, stack, and align truss components with pinpoint accuracy.
- Master the Tools: Gain hands-on experience with hammers, nail guns, staple guns, and power saws.
- Structural Integrity: Affix metal connector plates and ensure every truss meets rigorous quality tolerances and gap allowances.
- Specialized Projects: Assist with custom builds including super anchors, pre-cut rafters, and gable end sheathing.
- Team Synergy: Work effectively within a crew to hit production goals while maintaining a tidy, safe workspace.
Who You Are
- Detail-Oriented: You know that in construction, an inch makes a world of difference, and you are skilled at utilizing a tape measure.
- Physically Resilient: You enjoy an active workday and are capable of lifting 75–100 lbs while performing repetitive physical actions for an 8–10 hour shift.
- Dependable: You are reliable, possess a pride of workmanship, and show up ready to work, rain or shine.
- Safety-Conscious: You take pride in following OSHA requirements and company procedures to ensure safety at all times.
What We Offer
- Growth Potential: Gain working knowledge of material grades and quality standards, with opportunities to grow within the department.
- Hands-On Training: We value those eager and willing to learn—shop class experience is a plus, but we are ready to help you develop your skills.
- Full-Time Stability: Regular full-time status (40–50 hours/week) with opportunities for mandatory overtime as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in a fast-paced production environment is preferred.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and handle repetitive physical labor.
- Required Gear: Candidates must provide their own cold/wet weather gear, a hammer, and a 30’ tape measure.
