Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Family Law and Guardianship Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across a broad spectrum of litigation matters, ensuring smooth case progression from inception through resolution. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of Family Law, Guardianship, Marchman Act, Baker Acts and some other miscellaneous civil litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial support
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other research tools to gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations
- Manage and organize case files utilizing document management systems such as PCLaw
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, correspondence, and reports with precision and clarity
- Review and analyze documents for relevance, privilege, and accuracy during document review processes
- Coordinate depositions, interviews, hearings, and court filings while maintaining strict adherence to procedural law requirements
- Handle client communication professionally, providing updates and gathering necessary information efficiently
- Support project management initiatives by tracking deadlines, court dates, and case milestones
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while ensuring compliance with legal standards
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of litigation procedures across various practice areas including Family Law, Guardianship, Marchman Act, Baker Acts and some other miscellaneous civil litigation. The major areas of the practice are Family Law and Guardianship. Marchman Act and Baker Act skills can be acquired fairly easily if the candidate
- Proven experience with legal support tasks such as document drafting, proofreading, data entry, filing, and document management system operation
- Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw and other AI LexisNexis for case law analysis and legal updates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for drafting documents and managing data effectively. Florida Family Law Software experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with legal case management software including PcLaw to streamline workflows
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and internal collaboration with other staff members
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high ethical standards
- Experience supporting attorneys litigation support activities such as document review and trial preparation
- Knowledge of legal writing techniques to produce clear and professional reports or correspondence

Pay: $41,600.00 - $55,000.00 per year
