What this role actually is
You’ll own a territory across the Midwest, West, and/or Pacific Northwest — building relationships and closing deals across the Department of Energy, defense, medical, and research accounts. Some customers are decades-long partners. Others are new players in theranostics or small modular reactors who need a trusted technical guide.
Expect approximately 75% travel. This is a field role — you’re in front of customers, not behind a desk.
What you’ll be doing
Managing and growing a book of key accounts. Prospecting new ones. Running product demos. Building quotes and proposals. Navigating federal, state, and institutional procurement. Tracking your pipeline in Salesforce and showing up prepared to every conversation.
You’ll work closely with inside sales, technical support, and product teams — but at the end of the day, your territory is yours to develop.
Who we’re looking for
Core traits: High agency. Curious. Disciplined. Genuinely interested in solving problems for people.
Ideal background: Technical sales in a complex environment — ideally radiation, nuclear, medical devices, or adjacent fields.
Also open to: Strong salespeople who can learn the tech, or technical experts who can learn to sell. We can teach one. Both rarely lands in the same hire.
A degree in engineering, science, physics, chemistry, or a similar field is a plus — but equivalent experience and aptitude matter more to us.
Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce), government and institutional procurement processes, and the ability to read and work through technical contracts are all helpful to have from day one.
Why this role, why now
Mirion is a global leader in radiation detection and measurement — serving nuclear power, medical, defense, and research markets. We’re an IAEA partner, and our medical division is at the leading edge of theranostics and radiopharmaceutical workflows as that market scales rapidly.
This is a rare opportunity to sell something that matters — technology that protects workers, enables cancer treatment, and keeps critical infrastructure running safely. You’ll have real autonomy, a strong support structure, and a product portfolio that opens doors.
