Job Title: Cook
Supervisor: Food Service Manager and Executive Director
Salary: Dependent on Qualifications
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 1pm-6pm, Weekends on call
Qualifications:
· Must be able to prepare nutritious home cooked meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) for up to 35 or more people daily.
· Must have the ability to work 12 hour shifts 6-6:30am-6-6:30pm.
· Must have the ability to provide foods for residents who have food allergies and special diets for medical reasons.
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Must be able to pass background check by DHS and a national background check.
· If applicant has a substance abuse history, he or she must be in compliance with DHS 245G. Two years of confirmed abstinence from all mood altering substances.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner Friday-Sunday for up to 35 clients.
· Ensure that the kitchen is clean, all work areas, sinks, refrigerator and stove are spotless.
· Ensure that all dishes, silverware, cups and glasses are washed and sanitized.
· Pots and pans are washed and sanitized.
· Ensure all supplies stocked for breakfast and weekend meals.
· Ensure with Food Manager that freezers, dry storage and chemical storage is always maintained according to code and City of St. Paul Regulations.
· Serving clients in a polite and friendly manner.
· Alert the Facilities Coordinator and Executive Director of any maintenance problems that may occur.
· Adhere to all health and safety codes per the City of St. Paul.
· Adhere to safe food handling per Health Department regulations.
· Ensure kitchen is secure and monitored at all times
· Be self- motivated.
· Be well presented at all times, hair covered and wear clean gloves when working with food.
· Other duties as assigned by Food Manager and Executive Director.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
