Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary licensed electrician and field leader on commercial PV installations, working hands-on from DC through AC tie-in.
- Own electrical inspections: coordinate with AHJs, perform walk-downs, manage corrections, and drive projects to final sign-off.
- Plan and execute utility interconnections, switchgear work, and seamless DC-to-AC system integration per plans and specifications.
- Ensure full code compliance as the on-site authority — interpreting NEC (especially PV articles 690 & 705), local amendments, and AHJ requirements.
- Read and build from one-lines, three-lines, layouts, and schematics; redline accurate as-builts.
- Lead QA/QC efforts including torque verification, megger/continuity testing, labeling, and commissioning documentation.
- Lead or support system commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting across central, string, and microinverter platforms.
- Mentor journeymen and apprentices while enforcing the highest safety standards and leading effective toolbox talks.
- Collaborate proactively with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, utilities, and other trades — identifying and resolving issues early.
- Support our growing multi-state operations with your expertise and licensing.
Required Qualifications
- Active Master Electrician license in good standing (any state).
- Proven hands-on commercial solar/PV experience with full DC-to-AC tie-in capability.
- Deep working knowledge of the NEC, including PV-specific articles (690, 705) and industry best practices.
- Experience with utility interconnections, switchgear, and commercial service work.
- Comfortable working directly with inspectors and AHJs to successfully complete inspections.
- Hands-on experience across inverter platforms (central, string, and microinverters).
- Ability to travel 100% and move from project to project.
- Ability to pass required background and drug screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master licenses (or strong reciprocity eligibility) in multiple states.
- Experience acting as a qualifying party or pulling permits under your license.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification (or similar).
- Experience with commissioning, monitoring/communications setup, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Lift certifications (scissor, boom) and telehandler/forklift experience.

Travel Requirements
- 100% traveling position with a focus on work-life balance — weekends are typically scheduled off.
- Current and upcoming project regions include NJ, NC, SC, VA, FL, TX, CO, CA, AZ, UT, WA, and additional states as we expand.
- All travel expenses supported by the included per diem.
