Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform comprehensive dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while ensuring the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. We are looking for some one part time 1-2 times a month with room to grow.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans.
- Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring accurate diagnostic results.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care to foster long-term dental health.
- Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments, sealants, and assisting during restorative or pediatric dentistry procedures.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting all treatments, observations, and patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols using aseptic techniques and managing healthcare infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Valid state license as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
- Experience is not necessary
- Familiarity with Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management is preferred but not required.
- Competency in taking dental X-rays (dental x-ray), operating dental equipment safely, and assessing patient needs through vital signs and medical history review.
